Aleksander achieved a perfect score of 45/45 in the IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma, an accomplishment attained by approximately 0.5% of students worldwide. As the only Polish and the only European student in his cohort, he was admitted to Medicine at University College London (UCL), one of the top ten medical schools in the world. At the age of 18, he founded Medfully, an educational startup supporting applicants from around the world in the process of applying to medical and dental schools in the United Kingdom.
Currently, Aleksander is a fourth-year medical student at UCL and also a graduate in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence from the same university, which he completed with First Class Honours, receiving the Dean’s List Prize and a nomination for the Dean’s Research Prize, placing him among the top students at UCL. As a young researcher, he specializes in the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of eye diseases. He has authored over 10 scientific publications and presented at international conferences across Europe and the United States. He is a recipient of awards from the International and European Strabismological Societies, the Royal College of Pathologists, and Médecins Sans Frontières (winner of a 2024 hackathon). This year, he was also recognized by UCL for his academic engagement and contributions.
Alongside his academic work, Aleksander combines sport with social and charitable engagement. Between 2024 and 2026, he participated in half marathons and a 48-hour rowing ergometer challenge, raising a total of 15,000 PLN for the Mind, Shelter, and UCLH Cancer Fund foundations. He currently serves as a mentor at Our Future Foundation, supporting ambitious Polish students from less privileged backgrounds in their university application process. For many years, he was consistently involved in social work at a care home, where he taught residents how to use computers and mobile phones, and played the piano for them, while also supporting fundraising initiatives for charitable organisations.
