Amelia, a recipient of the first edition of the scholarship programme, attended V Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. She was deeply engaged in initiatives promoting knowledge, co-organising the Cracow Science Slam and working with various organisations and foundations, including the Children’s Hospice in Kraków. She spent the final two years of high school at Downside School, where she initiated charitable projects and collaborated with organisations such as Mary’s Meals and Help for Homeless. Alongside this, she pursued academic development by completing courses at Yale Law School and Harvard Law School in international law, contract law, global health, and digital health. Her engagement was recognised with numerous awards, including Best Paper at the Harvard Global Health and Leadership Conference for her work on civic initiatives improving access to clean water in East Africa.

Currently, thanks to the support of the Rafał Brzoska Foundation, Amelia is studying Law at Durham University, one of the leading universities in the United Kingdom. She continues to develop her interest in global health law, combining it with financial and corporate law. She is actively involved in pro bono work and co-leads the Girl Up chapter in Northern England, supporting young women from underprivileged backgrounds. She is the author of academic articles on topics such as judicial independence in Poland and the UK, as well as the right to health in the context of climate change. She also participates in internship programmes and legal simulations at leading law firms, including Davis Polk and Freshfields.

Amelia is deeply engaged in social impact initiatives. Following the invasion of Ukraine, she founded the Edu(po)moc project, which connects Ukrainian students with tutors to ensure continuity of education. She has also co-created initiatives such as Cracow Science Slam, projects supporting the European Town in Kraków, and the Children’s University. She serves as an educational mentor in several foundations, supporting young people in planning their academic paths, including studies abroad. As a volunteer at the Omenaa Foundation, she teaches English, engages in pro bono work at Durham University, and is developing a project supporting care leavers in Poland in their transition to independent life.
