A young sculptor and fifth-year student at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. Her artistic practice, rooted in a fascination with pop culture, horror cinema, and the grotesque — a space blurring the boundaries between beauty and disgust — focuses primarily on self-portraiture, which she uses as a tool for reflecting on identity in digital culture. She is involved in numerous exhibition projects, experimenting with a variety of techniques – from traditional sculpture in clay and plaster to cast-iron forms and installations combining sculpture with new media. Her works have been presented, among others, at Things we shouldn’t draw (2025) at Browar Mieszczański and TECHNOlogy (2025) at Galeria Prześwit. Since her first year of studies, she has served as class representative and has been actively involved in the FORMA academic society, where she also held the position of vice-chair, co-organizing numerous exhibitions, workshops, and inter-university projects.
Thanks to receiving a scholarship from the Rafał Brzoska Foundation, she opened her own studio, where she develops sculptural and drawing projects. The support she received enabled her, among other things, to purchase a 3D printer and develop her practice in new media. She is currently working on her master’s thesis, The War on Self — a sculptural installation using photogrammetry and 3D printing, complemented by large-scale drawing works. At the same time, Julia develops exhibition projects; recently she made her debut as co-curator of the exhibition Between the Drawing Room and the Garden at the Municipal Museum “Gerhart Hauptmann’s House” in Jelenia Góra, where she was responsible for selecting works by sculpture students. The project was particularly important to her, as it allowed her not only to gain curatorial experience but also to promote young art in the region where she grew up.
In her social engagement, she supports initiatives promoting young art and art education, co-creating exhibition projects and fostering the development of emerging artists. Julia was also involved in the #HerStory Mentor Society & Future-Ready Art Exhibition project at the Embassy of Switzerland in Warsaw, an initiative focused on promoting education and entrepreneurship among young women, and she is also involved in art and education projects at RiO Centre. After completing her master’s studies, Julia plans to continue her academic development and remain actively engaged in the Polish art market.
