Mikołaj has been fascinated for years by subjects related to space and aviation. As a teenager, at the age of 16, he flew an aircraft solo, conducted amateur astronomical research, and built measuring probes to study the atmosphere. He also develops concepts for spacecraft structures and propulsion systems used in space and in the atmospheres of other planets, including Earth. He has participated in numerous STEM and economics competitions, repeatedly achieving high rankings, and is a laureate of the “Cosmic Challenge” competition. At the time of applying for the scholarship, he was a final-year secondary school student at ZSOT in Sompolno, consistently developing his interests in space science and aviation with the ambition of becoming an airline pilot and fulfilling his dream of crossing the boundary of space.

Currently, as a fourth-semester engineering student at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, he continues to develop his expertise in aviation and astronautics. He is taking the ATPL(A) theoretical exams, having passed 5 out of 13 subjects, and is among the youngest aerobatic pilots in Poland, having begun this activity at the age of 19.

At the same time, he consistently working towards his ultimate goal of reaching beyond the edge of space. As part of his social engagement, he volunteers by teaching children and young people in STEM subjects, sharing his knowledge and passion.
