Can the knowledge gained at Sciences Po and the University of Chicago help Poland better address economic challenges? The guest on this episode of Fireside Chat is Aleksander Hycnar—a Rafał Brzoska Foundation scholar and economics student at Sciences Po in Paris who is currently studying at the University of Chicago. His interests lie in macroeconomics, monetary policy, and economic growth and development.
Aleksander gained experience in the Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank of Armenia. He is also a co-founder of Young Think—a youth-led think tank that develops public policy recommendations for Poland—and a member of his university’s rowing team.
In his conversation with Rafał Brzoska, he discusses, among other topics: why he chose economics and monetary policy; what Poland can learn from rapidly developing nations; why greater investment in science and innovation is needed; how he intends to use his international experience to benefit Poland; and the value he derives from the Rafał Brzoska Foundation scholars community.
