Alicja Staśkiewicz graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from SOAS University of London with First-Class Honours, placing among the top 2% of her cohort. During her studies, she focused on international, EU, and commercial law, with a particular interest in the hierarchy of domestic legal norms and their relationship with international law. At the time, she already held a Private Helicopter Pilot Licence (PPL(H)), which shaped her primary academic and professional focus — aviation law in the context of humanitarian operations.

With the support of a scholarship, she is currently pursuing an LLM at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where her research examines the interaction between international aviation law and humanitarian operations. Her research focuses on the legal frameworks governing Air Operator Certificates (AOC) in UN humanitarian missions, including the adequacy of existing certification regimes for rapidly deployable operations, as well as the growing regulatory challenges related to the use of drones in conflict zones and humanitarian air corridors. She also represents her university in the 33rd edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, one of the most prestigious arbitration competitions in the world, preparing written memoranda and presenting oral pleadings before tribunals in Hong Kong and Vienna.

Alicja is the founder of the student chapter of Lawyers Without Borders at SOAS University of London, which brings together 140 members and coordinates pro bono legal assistance in human rights cases in collaboration with UCL and King’s College London. She is also a co-founder of the alumni network of the Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation in Poland, supporting youth entrepreneurship and career readiness. In addition, she serves as a mentor at the Our Future Foundation, where she supports talented high school students in their applications to top universities worldwide.
