Music possesses an incredible ability to stir the unnamed depths of the human soul. To create it successfully requires a unique perception of reality – an openness to feeling more. Hania Derej is a remarkable example of how creating music transforms the lives of both the audience and the creator.
Hania is an extraordinary young composer, pianist, arranger, and conductor who skillfully balances her studies in Amsterdam and Krakow with an intensive musical career. Having started writing orchestral pieces as a teenager, she now has over 100 compositions, 7 albums, and performances with renowned ensembles like the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra to her credit.
Her curiosity about the world was evident from an early age. While studying classical piano, she discovered in the third grade that she didn’t always have to stick to the notes on the page. She allowed herself that freedom – and fortunately, her teacher nurtured rather than stifled that spark. This creative liberty laid the foundation for the numerous works and albums she discusses in the latest episode of the “Impact The Future” podcast.
In the new episode, we explore her journey – one fueled by passion, sports-driven inspiration, and logistical challenges as complex as running a business:
This is a conversation about consistency, self-discipline, and the courage to forge your own path – even when no one has walked it before.
The podcast is available now on all major streaming platforms.
